I kicked off Christmas Eve by heading to Time Square for some last minute purchases. Considering the crowds on a normal weekday, I expected extreme madness. Fortunately it was no worse than usual, except for this startling display that seems to inspire all Asians to grab their cameras and strike a pose.

As per McKinley tradition, we all went out to for teppanyaki that evening. The restaurant was quite classy and the food was perfect.
To cap off the evening we watched part of the light show from TST and hopped on a ferry back over to the island. It was on this ferry ride that the Christmas miracle happened (I just kept imagining Grandma Juneane calling out, "It's a Christmas Miracle!"). Seated around the front end of the ferry were 4 guys reading papers. About half way through the journey they inconspicuously pulled out Santa hats, put them on and began singing Christmas carols. They never stood up or even put their newspapers down. After they finished they removed their hats and went back to sitting quietly. It was magical.
Christmas day included the typical fare of opening presents and eating a big dinner. Good times.

Kelsey,
Sounds like your Christmas was day full of good memories. I wish I was there with you to see the newspaper men singing Christmas carols.
Thanks for the pictures. Rachel appears to be the only one enjoying her meal, though. Thank you McKinley angels for loving our baby!!
well how was i supposed to know that you didn't spend Christmas alone? i've always thought of you as a lone wolf.
also, i've never really been a fan (except when i heard that he played "Is This It?" in its entirety for one of his shows back in '01 or '02), but apparently ryan adams has retired from music for good. i hope you can cope with this loss.
